Biography

Mr Edward Kieswetter re-joined as SARS Commissioner on 1 May 2019. He had formerly served as the founding Group Executive of the SARS Large Business Centre and High Nett Worth Unit, SARS Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Commissioner during the period 2004 to 2009. From 2010 to 2016, he was the Group Chief Executive for the Alexander Forbes Group Holdings where after a successful turnaround, the company was listed on the JSE. Edward also held senior executive roles at FirstRand Banking Group and Eskom. Most recently he managed his own investments and served on various boards which amongst others included NE: Transnet, Chair: Technology Innovation Agency and Lead Independent: Shoprite Holdings.

Mr Pascal Ruganintwali is the Commissioner General and head of the authority. He is the Chief Executive Officer of the organization and He is responsible for the daily management of the authority. He is appointed upon approval by the Senate, by Presidential Order, for a term of 5 years, renewable once. The Commissioner General is assisted by a Deputy Commissioner General Commissioner General for Rwanda Revenue Authority since 18th October, 2018. He served RRA as the Deputy Commissioner General and Commissioner for Corporate services from March 2014 to October 2018 when he was appointed as the Commissioner General.

Ms. Makgolo is the Botswana Unified Revenue Service Commissioner General. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Botswana, a post-graduate Professional Training in Public Finance Management from the National Institute of Finance Management in India, and a Senior Executive Fellow of the Harvard Kennedy School – Cambridge, USA.

John Musinguzi Rujoki is a Ugandan mathematician and corporate executive who serves as the Commissioner-General of the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA). Mr Rujoki graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Makerere University, Uganda’s oldest and largest public university. In addition to his other assignments, Rujoki serves as the Chairman of board of National Information
Technology Authority (NITA-U) since October 2019. He is also a senior advisor on Information and
Communications Technology (ICT) to the President of Uganda, since 2015.

Mr. Zacch Adedeji is an accountant, corporate tax and public finance development expert. He holds a degree in Accounting from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Lle-Ife and a certificate of comparative tax and policy and administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

Mr Wort is an experienced Chief Executive with a demonstrated history of working in the international affairs industry. Skilled in leadership and strategy, Management, Corporate Governance, Policy Analysis, and Risk Management and Government Affairs. He has a strong business development professional with a degree of Master of Public Administration from University of the Western Cape/Universiteit van Wes-Kaapland.
