ATAF & Liberia Revenue Authority launch technical assistance programme

ATAF’s experts will work with LRA to prevent aggressive tax planning through transfer pricing by multinational enterprises, particularly in the financial services, gaming & betting and telecommunications sectors.

PRETORIA – The African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) is proud to announce a new programme has been launched in Liberia today in collaboration with Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB)! The programme aims to deliver further technical assistance to strengthen revenue mobilisation and audit capacity on complex cross-border transaction.

ATAF’s experts will work with LRA to prevent aggressive tax planning through transfer pricing by multinational enterprises, particularly in the financial services, gaming & betting and telecommunications sectors.

This joint programme is part of LRA’s wider objective of capacity building and tax base protection from base-eroding payments.

ATAF and TIWB have been collaborating since 2015 and have assisted African countries in collecting over USD 1.3 billion in tax revenue.

ATAF is firmly committed to its mandate of improving the capacity of African tax administrations to achieve their revenue objectives as well as advance the role of taxation in African governance and state building.
