We want to advance the role of taxation in African governance
ATAF serves as an African network that aims at improving tax systems in Africa through exchanges, knowledge dissemination, capacity development and active contribution to the regional
and global tax agenda.

Our services and products
The African Tax Administration Forum offers tax expertise and support to its member countries in the form of training, short courses, technical assistance, country programmes and rapid response initiatives. Our numerous policy briefs, suggested approaches and publications provide evidence-based tax data and statistics which are invaluable to tax administrations.
ATAF Experts Database
The ATAF Experts Database is a repository of skilled individuals who can be involved in ATAF activities on an ad-hoc or needs basis. The experts will assist the ATAF Secretariat in implementing its technical assistance, research and capacity development activities in order to fulfil the organisation’s strategic goal of strengthening African tax systems.

Tax Programmes
Our tax programmes aim at providing training on specific fields such as audit, VAT fraud, transfer pricing, and data analytics in order to improve the skills of tax administration employees of our member countries’ tax administrations.

ATAF databank
The ATAF databank contains tax, administrative, customs, and macroeconomic data from a wide array of African countries. This data is also used every year to produce the annual editions of the African Tax Outlook (ATO) publication and related research papers.

Upcoming Events
ATAF organises various events throughout the year, often in collaboration with our members or partner organisations. Participants can look forward to the Country Correspondent Conference, workshops and training on tax-related topics, our annual research congress featuring double-blind peer reviewed papers on pertinent themes, and the ATAF Annual Meetings.
